I can taste graduation on the tip of my tongue, even while struggling to keep up with school and an internship to get to that point. So once in a while, I like to indulge in the finer things in life. Finer things meaning television and food. What’s better than television and food? Hmm, don’t answer that.

Undercover Princes

Last week I sat down to watch TLC’s new series, Undercover Princes. The show follows three royal claimants—Remigius of Sri Lanka, Africa Zulu of Africa and Manvendra Singh Gohil of India—in their pursuit for true love. The bachelors were flown to Brighton, England where they live and date just like you and me—like real people.

Following each prince’s quest for their happy ending, especially Manvendra’s hunt for his ideal “prince” while transitioning from a pampered life to a small house in the UK, proves to be quite ridiculous (as per the usual TLC standards). I encourage people who have no lives, like myself, to watch it Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m. Or you know, continue fist-pumping on Jersdays.

All You Can Eat Korean Food

What’s better than all you can eat? Nothing. Nothing compares to that excitement right before you sit down to an endless meal. But a nonstop Korean feast? The morbidly obese child inside me screams “Heaven!”

Who in their right mind would come up with AYCE Korean? I’ll tell you who: Arirang, pronounced “ah-ree-rung,” located at 1177 Central Parkway West, serves up authentic Korean cuisine in a sleek and elegant environment.

Each table has its own grill where you cook a variety of Korean meats, and also features a convenient service button that you press to call a waitress over. On the AYCE menu, kalbi, pork and beef bulgogi, and marinated chicken are accompanied by several side dishes of pickled radishes, kimchi, marinated bean sprouts and seaweed. If you’re looking for true-to-its-roots Korean barbecue in the Mississauga area, Arirang is the place to go.

Game of Thrones Season Two Trailer

I have an unhealthy obsession with George R. R. Martin’s fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Last year, HBO debuted its television adaptation, Game of Thrones, to the orgiastic bliss of geeks everywhere (normal people, too.) On January 29, the second teaser trailer, “Shadow,” was released, to hype up fans for season two, premiering April1. I don’t know about you other ASoIaF nerds out there, but I’ll be raging out and writing HBO several threatening letters if this release date ends up being an April Fool’s joke.
