This past weekend, Christmas arrived early for Mississauga residents at Streetsville’s own Santa Claus Parade! The annual Mississauga Santa Claus Parade kicked off on Sunday afternoon, starting at 1:00 p.m.
The parade traced a route down Queen Street South, which was closed for the event between Britannia Road and Erin Centre Boulevard from noon to 3:00 p.m. Undeterred by the frigid weather, residents of all ages lined the sides of the street, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the jolly man himself.
The event also supported a great cause, the annual Toys for Tots campaign. One of the parade’s sponsors, Enersource, teamed with the Peel Regional Police and Streetsville BIA to collect toy donations at the parade in support of this year’s Toys for Tots drive. Last year’s drive provided toys to roughly 6,000 underprivileged children in Peel come Christmas.
